Educational Programs
There are five colleges under the flagship of this University which are Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental college, Women’s College, J.N. Medical College , Z.H. College of Enginering & Technology and A.K. Tibbiya College. The University is offering education to its students in almost 250 educational programs. The different subjects of these courses are agriculture, arts, commerce, engineering and technology, law, Unani medicine, science, theology, management studies and research, medicine and life science. The courses offered in the different fields range from Bachelors, Masters to Post graduation diploma.

Facilities
Maulana Azad Library is regarded as second largest University Library of Asia with more than 11.5 lakh books/documents. It was set up in the year 1875. It has a famous library called the Maulana Azad library which is the second prominent libraries of Asia with more than 1.5 lakh books to its credit. The library has 16,000 manuscripts which is an exotic collection of this library only. With a computer lab, you can easily gain access to all the online journals from any college. These manuscripts contain the degrees of many famous Mughal emperors like Babar, Aurengzeb, Shahjahan and Akbar. The technology of this library is well advanced and the books are issued with the help of barcode technology. The number of teachers and students visiting this library daily is 5000.

A Counseling and Placement Centre has also been established for the placement of students. It also works to develop the personality of students in multi directions. It strengthens the various skills of students from administrative, managerial, communicative, self- employment and technical. Inflibnet is another facility provide to the students since 2004 which aims to provide them with almost 2000 online publications and access to important databases. These databases are Biological Abstract, Chemical Abstract and Royal Society of Chemistry to AMU. The teachers and students can access this facility without paying any charges by using the dial up internet connection. The University also holds various competitions like an annual essay competition and the Sir Syed Ahmad Khan International Award for Literature 2008
