About Annamalai  University: The Annamalai University is a teaching, unitary and residential university. This university was founded by the noble heart philanthropist Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar. He provided a useful hand in starting of many colleges and in the end gave rise to this University in 1929. After then there were many pro-chancellors of the universities who served the University from 1948-1984.

Facilities
The Annamalai University is providing various facilities like hostels for both boys and girls, main and central library, explicit Yoga center, sports complex and auditorium, staff recreation club and co-operative stores and other facilities like hospitals, guest house and captive power generation. Besides there are some other facilities like services of National Cadet Cops, student cultural club, Heart Foundation, Youth Red Cross, Social Service League, Blood Donor Clinic, Chest Pain camps and also the Rural Development Services.
