Educational Programs:

Assam Agricultural University offers a number of under graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in the field of agriculture, veterinary science, home science and fisheries science.

UG Courses: B. Sc Agriculture, Dairy Science, Forestry and Home science

PG Courses: M.Sc. in Home Science, Agriculture and MBA in Agri-Business.

PhD Courses: Ph. D in Agriculture, home science and veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry

Facilities – Since its establishment, AAU authorities have successfully taken a number of steps to provide better facilities to the students. Apart from the accommodation and health care centers, there’s a multi-gym facility within the University campus both at Jorhat and Khanapara. Telephones have been installed within the hostels for communication purpose. Then there’s also a Cyber Café in the Jorhat campus. Students’ placement service has been strengthened, and finally the best of all facilities is the AAU Central Library.

About AAU:
The Assam Agricultural University came into existence on January 2nd, 1969, courtesy the Assam Agricultural University Act of 1968. Going by its territorial jurisdiction, the University extends over entire Assam. AAU conducts teaching, research and extension education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. There are several university campuses, the headquarters being located at Borbheta. Apart from the conventional courses, the University aims to transfer agricultural technology to the user and also disseminate information in agriculture and other allied sciences. Although an UGC recognized institute, AU is not funded by the UGC grants and is also an active member of the Association of Indian Universities.

AAU comprises of various departments that have been organized under 4 broad faculties: The faculty of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Home Science and Fisheries Science. Apart from this, there are also two Directorates of Research. The Directorate of Research (Agriculture) has its headquarters in Jorhat and the Directorate of Research (Veterinary) has its headquarters in Khanapara.
