AU offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate as well as PhD programs.

Facilities – Assam University provides the students with accommodation i.e. hostel facility. Transportation is also provided by the institute. Three buses ply between Silchar and the campus (distance of about 20kms). Besides, there are also other facilities namely, the University computer center and major scientific equipment center.

About AU:
Established in the year 1994, AU came into being through the Assam (Central) university act, 1989. With over a space area of 600 kms, the university is located amidst the typical north-eastern landscapes and is surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains. There are eight school all together affiliated to the University imparting lessons on major disciplines. They are Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, and Management Studies. And under these eight schools, there are 24 departments. Although an UGC recognized institute, AU is not funded by the UGC grants and is also an active member of the Association of Indian Universities.
