Educational Programs:
BESU offers educational programs at the graduate, post graduate and doctoral levels. Tutoring sessions are held within the University campus and also in the University affiliated colleges and educational institutes.
Under Graduate Courses: At present, BESU offers only AICTE approved undergraduate courses leading to B.E / B.Arch Degree in eight branches: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Mining Engineering.
Post Graduate Courses: Post Graduate courses leading to Master of Engineering degree are offered in 8 disciplines, namely, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Mining, Electronics and Tele-Communication, Computer Science and Technology and Engineering Mechanics and Mining and MCA.
PhD Courses: Guidance and facilities for PhD programs are offered by the different academic departments of the University.
Facilities – Covering a floor space of about 22,000 sq. meters, BESU provides a number of infrastructural facilities to the students and employees. There are provisions for hostel accommodation for students and staffs, a college canteen, University library, health care unit, computer center, video conferencing facility, the University press and a workshop complex.

About BESU:
Formerly known as Calcutta Civil Engineering College, the Institute was established on November 24, 1856. Initially the institute was set up in order to meet the requirement of trained Engg personnel for Public Works Department. Later renamed as, Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, Howrah is the fourth oldest engineering college in India. BESU is not only one of the recognized institutes as per the UGC act, but the University is also an active member of the Association of Indian Universities.

From May 1857 to 1992, Calcutta Civil Engineering College was a constituent college affiliated to the University of Calcutta. In 1992, the institute was accorded the status of a Deemed University; and on 1st October, 2004, Bengal Engineering College was bestowed upon the status of a full-fledged University.

I am very much interested to be the part of this college. I found the engineering education of Russia one of the best engineering education and the degree from the Russian university to be the best degree. So I want to do my undergraduation in architecture engineering from your university .
I had completed my GCE A Levels from Kathmandu, Nepal this may/June (2008). In average I had got C+ grades in average .
I went through details on the website and found some of the useful information and still there are many I am unaware of. I am writing this request because the college administration needs to help me.
Please help me know the time of intake in the college and the procedures to get admitted in the college. Is there intake in January session?
Also I want to know about the scholarship facilities and hostel facilities.
