About BCKV:
BCKV was established in 1974, and the institute has completed almost three decades of its existence. Till date, BCKV is looked upon as one of the pioneer institutes in the field of Agricultural Education, Research and Extension. The Institute was established with the objective of providing facilities for the study of Agriculture, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering. A number of scientific researches and educational and extension programs in agriculture are also undertaken by the University keeping in mind the basic agricultural requirement of the state. Ever since its establishment, BCKV is enlisted in the list of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as recognized institute, under the UGC Act. However, courses conducted by the university are self-financed. BCKV is also a member of the Associations o Indian Universities (AIU).
