About Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad

Shri. Late Jawaharlal Nehru, prime minister of India, inaugurated the University on 23^rd August 1958 in the presence of the massive and distinguished crowd at Aurangabad on the premises of the temporary building of the University office. It is affiliated to the Osmania University Hyderabad. The main objectives of the university are:

1. To play an important role in the economic, social and cultural development.
2. To promote and cultivate the arts, science, medicine, engineering and other branches.
3. To organize and maintain laboratories, museum, libraries, and other tools for research and teaching.

Facilities

The central library houses a fantastic collection of books on various subjects and disciplines which provide enormous opportunity for the students to explore things to the maximum. The health centre provides extracurricular opportunities for the students. The press, hostels etc can fulfill all the needs of students there. The bank of Maharashtra in the campus is the best feature as it is a great help for financial dealings of the students. The post office, The guest house, IAS coaching centre, NSS student welfare, board of extra mural studies, university of employment and guidance bureau are some of the other facilities inside the campus.
