Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE)

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), founded in 1956, is a public university located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. There are around 7,100 students studying in the university, taking the courses for Bachelor, Master, and Exchange programs.

Academic Program
Eindhoven University of Technology comprises nine departments:

  1. Department of Biomedical Engineering, with single area of study: Biomedical Engineering (conducted collaboratively with Universiteit Maastricht).
  2. Department of Architecture, Building and Planning, which offers seven areas of study: Structural Design, Physical Aspects of the built environment, Building Engineering, Construction Engineering
    Architecture, Design Systems, and Urban Planning.
  3. Department of Electrical Engineering, which offers four areas of study: Information and Communication Systems, Measurement and Control Systems, Power Engineering, and Telecommunication and Electromagnetism.
  4. Department of Industrial Design, with the single department: Industrial Design.
  5. Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, which offers ten areas of study: Inorganic Chemistry, Catalysis, Chemical Reactor Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry,
    Solid State Chemistry and Materials Science, Separation Processes and Fluid Phenomena, Process Development, Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry, and Synthetics Technology.
  6. Department of Applied Physics, which offers fourteen areas of study: Physics and applications of ion beams, Physics and application of accelerators, Physics of surfaces and boundary layers, Gas dynamics, Turbulence and vortex dynamics, Semiconductor physics, Equilibrium and fluid dynamics in plasmas, Elementary processes in gas discharges, Physics of nano-structures, Theoretical and experimental nuclear physics and quantum electronics, System and control engineering, Low temperatures, Physical informatics and clinical physics, and Classical theoretical physics.
  7. Department of Technology Management, which offers five areas of study: Human Performance Management, Information Systems, Quality and Reliability Engineering, Organization Science and Marketing, and Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control.
  8. Department of Mechanical Engineering, which offers eleven areas of study: Computational Rheology, Mechanics of materials, Polymer technology, Process technology, Combustion Technology, Energy technology, Dynamics and Control, Systems engineering, Precision engineering, Control systems technology, and Design of industrial products.
  9. Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, with two areas of study: Mathematics
    and Computer Science.

Besides the undergraduate and postgraduates programs, there are also Technological Designer programs, Lifelong Learning, and Doctorate programs. Some are conducted cooperatively with other universities and institutes. PhD degree programs are offered in various subjects such as Business Process Management, a PhD End-User Development of Tangible Interaction, Molecular Dynamics, Materials and Interface Chemistry, Theoretical and Computational Physics, Automotive Human-Machine Interface, Structure Formation by Self-Organization, Efficient Multi-Core Model Checking, Biosensors Research, Persuasive Technology, and so on.
