Gorakhpur University

Gorakhpur University, founded in 1973, is a public university located in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is accredited as B++ by NAAC. The affiliated colleges are located in various zones across Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddarth Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, and Deoria. The five hostels, Sant Kabir, Gautama Buddha, Vivekanand, Nath Chandravat, and the Ladies Hostel, houses the undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at Gorakhpur University. Besides the undergraduates and postgraduates, there are also students taking diploma studies. And there are research programs focused on the fields of Physics, Mathematics & Statistics, and Chemistry.

Academic Program

Gorakhpur University conducts academic programs in the following the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science (with the departments of Computer Science, Physics, and Electronics), Faculty of Commerce (with the departments of Commerce, Economics, and Master of Business Administration), Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Agriculture. 1.      Undergraduate degrees, which consist of Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Law; Bachelor of Library & Information Science; Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication; Bachelor of Education; B.Sc. degree programs in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, Bio-Technology, Electronics, Agriculture, and Home Science; and B.A. degree programs in Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Geography, Ancient History, History, Economics, Political Science, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Urdu, Defense Studies & Strategic Studies, Performing Art, and Visual Art.
