Gour Banga University, Malda

Gour Banga University was founded in 2008 under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 2007. It is affiliated to all the colleges in Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, and Dakshin Dinajpur, except the Raiganj University College. Located in Malda, West Bengal, India, Gour Banga University is a state university with urban architecture and environment. All the academic costs are funded by the Government of West Bengal.

Academic Program

Academic programs at Gour Banga University, as categorized by degree level, are offered as follows:

1. Undergraduate programs. There are Elective and Honor Subjects in the following: English, Bengali, Arabic, Urdu, Sanskrit, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Geography, Education, Economics,  Sociology, Journalism & Mass Communication, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Home Science, Physical Education, Human Rights & Values in Education, Hospitality Management, Agriculture, Office Management, and Commerce. The courses offered the following degrees to students: B.A. & LL.B; B.H.M.; B.B.A.; B.Sc.IT; B.C.A; B.Sc. in Home Science, Political Science, Humanities, Physical Education, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Zoology;  B.A. in Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Sociology, Economics, Education, Geography, Philosophy, History, and Hindi.
2. Postgraduate programs. Postgraduate degrees are offered for M.A. in English, Bengali, Arabic, Sanskrit, History, and Education, as well as M.Sc. in Mathematics.

The study departments are arranged into seven: English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Arabic, History, Education, and Mathematics.
