GAU continues to offer regular under graduate, post graduate, Ph.D. courses and also special diploma and certificate courses to the young and aspiring Indian and foreign professionals.

Facilities – GAU has different full-fledged Ayurvedic departments, an Ayurvedic Pharmacy that produces medicines as required by the hospitals and research centers, a herbarium, library, medicinal plants garden and well equipped Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Pathology Laboratories, which are manned by highly qualified professionals. Within the campus, there is a well-equipped ayurvedic hospital that provides free treatment to all in-patients as well as out-patients.

The University library contains rare collection of old manuscripts; there are laboratories to provide adequate support for intensive research activities.  The Ayurvedic specialties of the university hospital are: Panchakarma (internal purification, massage and physiotherapy) and Kshara Sutra (alkaline thread cauterization). There is also an Ayurvedic dental clinic.
