Institute of Advance Studies in Education (IASE)

Institute of Advance Studies in Education, or also known as IASE University, was founded in 1950 under the Section 3 of the UGC Act-1956 of the Government of India. Located in Sardarshahr, Rajasthan, India, it is now accredited as “B+” by NAAC. IASE University, which currently teaches around 18,000 students in various study programs, is the pioneer of distance education in the country.

Academic Program

There are seven departments at IASE University:

1.      Department of Engineering. The department offers B.E. in four programs and B.Tech in two programs. There are B.E. degrees in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and in Mechanical Engineering. The B.Tech programs are available in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The course fee for B.E program is Rs.20,000/semester, while it is Rs.30,000/semester for B.Tech.

2.      Department of Life Science. The department offers B.Sc and M.Sc in Life Science, each costs around Rs.17,000/semester and Rs.20,000/semester respectively.

3.      Department of Information Technology. The department offers Master of Computer Application, Bachelor of Computer Application, Master of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Application. The BCA and B.Sc. in IT cost Rs.8,000/semester, MCA and M.Sc in IT cost Rs.15,000/semester, while the postgraduate diploma costs Rs.12,000.

4.      Department of Management. The department offers MBA degrees in Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, and Marketing. The program costs Rs.25.000/semester.  In addition, there is also BBA program which costs Rs.8,000/semester.

5.      Department of Physiotherapy. The department offers five degrees as follows: BPT, DPT, DMLT, DRIT, and CMLT. The BPT program costs Rs.25.000/semester, while the rest are all Rs.20.000/semester.

6.      Department of Veterinary Science. The department offers two-year DLSA program and one-year CVAS program which cost Rs.15,000/year and Rs.10,000/year respectively.

7.      Department of Traditional and Home Science. The department offers M.Com, MA, BA, M.Sc, and B.Sc degrees. M.Com degree is available in EAFM, ABST, and Business Organization. The two-year MA degree is available in Education, Hindi, Political Science, Sanskrit, History, English, Economics, and Mathematics. M.Sc and B.Sc. degrees are offered in Home Science and Science. Lastly, BA degree is offered in History, Hindi, Political Science, Physics, Computer Science, Philosophy, Public Administration, Geology, Sociology, Economics, Sanskrit, English, and in Drawing & Painting. All programs cost Rs.5,000/year, except for M.Sc which is Rs.7,000/year.

Distance Learning programs are available in some areas of study such as Information Technology, Management, Engineering, Traditional, Paramedical, Veterinary Science, and Ayurveda and Yoga. There are many degree programs to choose from in each area. Students from any degree levels can join the distance learning programs. In addition, there are also off-campus programs in four locations: Sumerpur Campus, Binaker Campus, Abu Road Campus, and Bhubaneshwar Campus.

The whole campus complex is equipped with facilities and infrastructures for both students and staffs. Among the listed facilities are the 12 hostels, library in each department, game and sport centers, banks, development centers, schools, guest house, health service, post office, and many others. There are also laboratories in each department. Besides the course fee, students will also have to pay some additional fees such as examination fee, bridge course fee, late fee (if any), re-registration fee, transcript fee, provisional certificate fee, and some others.
