About International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. The International Institute of Information Technology (previously known as Indian Institute of Information Technology), Hyderabad is an autonomous, self-supporting institution established in 1998 with support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. IITH is predominantly a research university. This is what sets it apart from the other leading engineering institutes in India. The Institute has developed highly advanced research centers in Computer Vision/Computer Graphics, Natural Language Processing, VLSI and Communication, Robotics, Databases, Algorithms, and Information Retrieval.

Facilities

Spread over 62 acres, the Institute is fully residential. There are 4 buildings that include corporate schools and research centers. The academic building has lecture halls, tutorial rooms, computer and electronics labs and offices of the administration and faculty. The computer laboratories in the institute are laced with high-tech software and hardware facilities and is complete air-conditioned. Research students can access computer and Internet facilities 24/7. The entire campus has wireless connectivity. Students are availed individual rooms in hostel. The institute has one fully air-conditioned guest house with four suites. There are two men hostels and one women hostel comprising 1200 rooms.

MS by Research – a research-oriented postgraduate programme wherein students can take advanced courses linked to their area of specialization in the first year and devote the
second year entirely towards their research thesis. Outstanding candidates can directly start working on their research thesis in the first year, provided they have the necessary background, and complete it in one and half year.

MSIT – MSIT provides a 2 year, post graduate IT education that emphasizes on project-based curriculum. The educational process is based on Learning by Doing methodology and uses personalized mentoring, instead of conventional classroom teaching.

Post-BSc dual degree programme (BTech CSE + MS by Research in Computational Natural Sciences) – A four year integrated course offered to meritoriousScience graduates (Physics/Chemistry honors) with an aptitude for research. This program is designed specifically to impart higher education in computer Science including the study of domain specialization and thesis work too.
