About IP university: – The current Vice Chancellor of the University is Prof. K.K. Aggarwal and the Registrar is Vinod K. Jain. This University is also known as the “Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha Vishwavidyalaya”. The main motto of the university is to ‘provide a market oriented professional education to the student’. The main focus of the University is on professional education in disciplines of law, pharmacy, technology, management, engineering, medicine, nursing, etc. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was established in 1998 by the Government of NCT of Delhi. The university has been recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC), accredited as “A” by NAAC, and gained ISO 9001:2000 Certification. The campus provides comprehensive facilities for students. There are laboratories, seminar halls, canteen, sport center, auditorium, hostel, bank, library, sport center, and others. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University also manages student clubs and extra curricular activities to support student knowledge and personal development

Type of Institution: – State University established by Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The establishment of the University was done under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act (9 of 1998). Besides this, the University lies under the membership of the Association of Indian Universities. This University is recognized and funded by UGC. According to the ratings of NAAC, the University received the ‘A’ rating in 2007.

Courses offered AT GGSIPU:

1. Postgraduate Degree Courses: Various courses like MD, MA, M.Sc and MBA are offered by the university.
2. Undergraduate Degree Courses: these UG Programs are of 2-3-4 years
3. Certificate Courses: various Certificate Programs are offered by the University.
4. Some of the excellent courses are M.Sc. (Environment Management), M.Sc.(Forensic Science), MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc.(Criminology) , MHRPD, MCPHM, , MAHM, MBBS, MPT, MBA, B.Ed., BPT, BHMCT, B.Tech, B.Arch., B.Sc., BRT, B.Pharma., BCA, BBA, BJ(MC), BASLP, BMC, B.Sc.(MLT), , BHMS, PhD, , LLB, LLM and Nursing.

Academic Program

Academic programs in the university are arranged into 11 schools:

1.      School of Information Technology. The school offers two dual degree programs: B.Tech./M.Tech in Information Technology and in Computer Science & Engineering. M.Tech degrees are offered in Information Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, and Digital Communication & Wireless Networks. MCA degrees are available in Software Engineering and Software System, and there is also PhD degree program.

2.      School of Chemical Technology, which offers B.Tech and M.Tech programs in areas such as Biotechnology, Information Technology, Environment Management, Management Studies, and others.

3.      School of Bio-Technology. The school offers B.Tech in Bio-Technology, M.Tech (including the dual degree programs with School of Information Technology), and PhD research programs in areas such as Agricultural, Environmental, Industrial, Biomedical, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.

4.      School of Management Studies. The school offers two-year MBA programs in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and System, and Global Business, as well as dual degree for MBA/B.Tech. There are special weekend programs for MBA degree in General, Banking and Finance, Real Estate, Consultancy Management, and Enterprise System Management, all finish in two years. In addition, there is also PhD program.

5.      School of Environment Management. The school offers M. Sc. Environment Management and MBA in Disaster Management.

6.      School of Basic & Applied Sciences, which offers M.Tech in Engineering Physics.

7.      School of Humanities & Social Sciences. The school offers Postgraduate program for M.A. in English and Communication Studies.

8.      School of Law and Legal Studies. The school offers five-year LL.B. course for undergraduate program. Master of Law degrees are offered in Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism, Corporate Law, Human Rights Law, Intellectual Property Rights, International Trade Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Technology and Law, Corporate Law, and Human Rights. In addition, there is PhD degrees in various relevant fields of law.

9.      School of Engineering & Technology. The school offers B.Tech degrees in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical & Automation Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Ph.D degrees in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical & Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and others.

10.  School of Education, which offers master of Education.

11.  School of Planning & Architecture

Facilities: Basic Facilities like Library, Hostels, Canteen, Playgrounds, University Dispensary, Banks, and Conference hall, Auditorium, Seminars Halls and Labs are all available within the campus which is well equipped and structured.
