Jain University

Jain University, founded in 1990, is a private university located in Bengaluru, India. Formerly known as ‘Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, it is deemed to be University under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development. The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. There is wide range of study programs offered in the university. In addition, sport is also an integrated part of the entire curriculum. Jain University comprises of six colleges at sic different campuses. They are School of Graduate Studies, Center for Graduate Studies, Center for Management Studies, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College of Engineering, Center for Post Graduate Studies, and School of Business.

Academic Program

Jain University comprises of four faculties:

1. Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. The faculty offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. There are Bachelor of Arts in Optional English, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology, Economics, Hindustani Music, Computer Design & Graphics, Classical Music, Classical Music, and Carnatic Dance. There are also Bachelor of Media Studies, Bachelor of Interior Design, and Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design. The postgraduate programs are available for MS Communication, as well as Master of Arts in English, Kannada, Sanskrit, Hindi, Economics, Classical Music (Carnatic & Hindustani), and Classical Dance (Bharatanatyam).
2. Faculty of Commerce and Management. Undergraduate degree programs are offered for Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Commerce. Postgraduate programs are offered for Master fo Commerce, Master of Business Administration, Masters in International Business, Masters in Finance and Accounting, and Masters in Human Resource Management.
3. Faculty of Sciences. There are undergraduate programs for Bachelor of Computer Application, Bachelor of Science in Life Science, and Bachelor of Science in Physical Science. The areas of study include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Statistics, Botany, Microbiology, Genetics, and Biotechnology. Postgraduate programs are available for Master of Computer Application and Master of Science. Master of Science is offered in the following specializations: Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Psychology (Clinical / Industrial / Psychological Counseling), Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
4. Faculty of Engineering Sciences. The faculty also offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. There is Bachelor of Engineering in the following areas: Aerospace Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Also, there is Master of Technology in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Energy Engineering.
5. Doctor of Philosophy degree is offered in various areas as well: Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and in Aerospace Engineering.
