About Jamia Hamdard: The establishment of Jamia Hamdard begins with the Unani clinic in year 1906. The founder of the Institute was Hafiz Abdul Majeed who was known to be the practitioner of the Unani System. The meaning of the word “Hamdard” means “sympathy for all and sharing of pain”. After this, his son Hakeem Abdul Hameed took the responsibility on his shoulder and expanded the clinic and formed the Institute.

Other Info: The present Vice Chancellor of the Jamia Hamdard is Dr. S. Ahmad and the Registrar is Prof. Akhtar Majeed. Mr. H.Alam is the Assistant Registrar who takes care of all the admission procedures
