Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University is a university which focuses on providing education in the fields of art and architecture. Established under the Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature No.31 of 2008, the university is now offering comprehensive study programs in the mentioned areas. It also maintains the following affiliated colleges: CSI Institute of Technology, Sri Venkateshwara College of Architecture, SAR College of Architecture, and HITS College of Architecture.

Academic Program

There are two constituent colleges at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University: School of Planning & Architecture and College of Fine Arts. Overall, the university offers study programs for the following degrees:

1. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). There are 6 seats for BFA in Animation, 35 seats for BFA in Applied Arts, 30 seats for BFA in Photography, 20 seats for BFA in Painting, and 10 seats for BFA in Sculpture. Prospective students will need to take the entrance test. Fee for BFA in Animation is Rs.30.200 PA, while it is Rs.10.000 PA for other specializations.
2. Master of Fine Arts (MFA). There are 25 seats offered for MFA in Applied Arts, 20 seats for MFA in Photography, 15 seats for MFA in Painting, and 10 seats for MFA in Sculpture. Students who are interested in applying for MFA degree programs will have to take the entrance test. The tuition fee is Rs.25.000/semester.
3. Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). There are 45 seats available for the program, either full time and part time. Admission procedure will be based on NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) requirements. Fee for the program is Rs.10.000 PA.
4. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). There are 45 seats for B.Tech in Planning, 60 seats for B.Tech in Digital Techniques, and 60 seats for B.Tech in Facility Planning and Maintenance. Admission procedure is based on those set by EAMCET (Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test). Studying fee is Rs.30.200 PA
5. Bachelor of Design. The program is available for 25 intakes. Admission is based on entrance test and tuition fee is Rs.30.200 PA.
6. Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Planning. There are 25 seats opened for applicants. Intake will be based on entrance test and studying fee is Rs.25.000/semester.
7. Master of Architecture (M.Arch) in Interior Design. Students have to go through the entrance test held by the university when applying for the position.
8. Master of Urban & Regional Planning (MURP).
9. Bridge Course for Diploma Holders in Photography. The program accepts 20 student intakes. Admission is based on entrance test and studying fee is Rs.20.000/semester.

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University manages good infrastructures and facilities for students and staffs. There are library, Quality Improvement Program (QIP) Cell, Industrial Consultancy Cell (ISC), Entrepreneurship Development Cell, workshops, sport facilities, hostel, and so on. Students can take part in college festivals, study tours, and sport activities such as gymnasium, volleyball, and some indoor sports. There is currently only one hostel, which is for boys. But another one for girls will soon be constructed.
