Courses: NIT offers M.Tech Programs in Civil Engineering (Water Resource Engineering) Electrical Engineering (Advanced Power System and Control) Mechanical Engineering (Computational Methods and Experimental Techniques in Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer) and Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering (VLSI Design Automation & Techniques).

MPhil Program:
The institute also offers with research and doctorate education in the field of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities.

Facilities:
Apart from being one of the reputed educational institutes, it also proves to be the best residential area for its students. It offers five boys hostels and one girl’s hostel in the campus. It has computer centre which offers facility to seven academic departments. Further, it had well-stocked and updated library which had the capacity of 100 readers in reading halls and 50 readers in Audio-Visual Hall and a fully-spacious auditorium. It offers canteen, juice bar, Nescafe coffee bar and the nearby Ekta Cafe are some of the most frequented jaunts. Not to forget Tilak’s Dhaba, which serves delicious dishes even in the middle of the night when the examinations are in full swing.
The institute also has ‘Training & Placement’ department which was established in the year 1995.

Additional Information:
NIT Hamirpur gives sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. Students can participate at college level inter class matches in different games.
It also has its own dedicated health centre for the better health care of its students and staff. It has well-equipped basic medical facilities and in case of emergency, patients are referred to the Zonal Hospital, Hamirpur.
Further the institute offers Scholarships that are available for Electronics students by Bharti Telecom, and is given to students by ACC. Students from Himachal Pradesh are provided with scholarships by the Govt.

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur is one of the twenty NITs of the country. The institute was established in 1986 as Regional Engineering College. It was established jointly by the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. The college provides Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate Education in Engineering, Sciences & Humanities. It has been given the status of Deemed University.
