Courses offered at NIT, Thiruchirapalli: – Some of the main coursed at the campus are B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch, MCA, M.Sc., PhD, MS and MBA. The main departments of the NIT Thiruchirapalli are of Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Management Studies, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Humanities (English), Production Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Computer Applications and Physics.

Other main courses are M.Tech in Environmental Engineering which is included in the course of Science and Engineering and the second recognized course in M. Tech in Manufacturing Technology. Both of these courses are of 2 years.

Information regarding National Institute of Technology, Thiruchirapalli: -This NIT was initially known as the Region Engineering College, Thiruchirapalli and after this in 2003 this university became the Deemed University. This institute is governed by the Board of Directors and the Director of this Institute is the Honorable Finance Minister of India, Mr. P.Chidambaram.

Other Information: This Institute had got the huge grant from the World Bank in order to make the expansion. Besides providing trained and qualified education to their student, institute is also teaching the social cause and services.
