This institute was established in 1962 by Alladi Ramakrishna for research in fields of mathematics. This institute is supported by the Department of atomic energy and The Government of Tamil Nadu.Research programmes of various kinds are conducted here.Imsc conducts summer programs in every May-June which attracts many visitors from various international institutes.
