Facilities – Not much, but TMV has always aimed to provide the students and staff with some of the basic infrastructural facilities. And in its attempt to do so, the University has come out with flying colors. Today, TMV is the proud owner of a sizeable library with a collection of over 85, 000 books, journals and reference materials. There are also the medical and health units, a high-tech computer lab, a seminar hall, hostel accommodation facilities for staff and students and transportation facilities.

About TMV:
Established in 1921 under the strict guidance of the “Father of the Nation”, TMV’s sole objective had been to provide excellent educational service at the national level. Long after its inception, was the institute bestowed upon the status of a Deemed University in 1987. It was during 1985, when TMV introduced the Distance Educational Programs, thus taking the institute to great heights. Enlisted in the UGC list of recognized institutes since 1987, today, TMV is also an active member of the Association of Indian Universities, and receives all its financial aids from the UGC.

I am a student of M.Phil of TMV (2007-08 / Library and Inf. Sc Department) and want to work for Ph.D. As per the new situation of entrance exam, I want to know about the states of my M.Phil and the entrance exam of the university. Will I eligible for Ph.D at TMV directly or will I have to face the entrance exam for Ph.D admission ? In 2007-08, there was no need of entrance for M.Phil admission and as per the Ph.D rules, those students have admitted for M.Phil through entrance exam, they are not needed for entrance exam for Ph.D. Which type of action will be taken for the batches, who were not needful for entrance exam for M.Phil?
