Educational Programs:
UAS has come up with 8 undergraduate degree programs in the faculty of Agriculture, all with duration of 4 years. PG programs are offered in varied disciplines, viz. Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing Co-operation and Agricultural Engineering, duration of which is 2 years.

Under-Graduate Courses: B.Sc in Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture and Forestry and B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and Food Science.

Post-Graduate Courses: MSc in varied disciplines related to Agriculture and Horticulture.

Apart from the aforesaid conventional courses, a number of training programs are also conducted within the University campus. Training courses are offered in Bakery, Mushroom production and Nursery rising and Management.

Facilities – For its laboratory and research units, UAS has housed a common instrumentation room with adequate equipments / instruments, to carryout extensive researches. Some of the sophisticated equipments and specialized facilities offered by the University are: Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Kjedahl Unit, Gas Chromatograhy, Sophisticated Microscopes, Liquid Scintillation Counter and many others. Then there are also the hostel and academic blocks for students with college canteen, library and banking facilities.

About UAS:
It was on August 21, 1964, that Dr Zakir Hussain, the then Vice President of India, inaugurated UAS. The fisheries college at Mangalore was established in 1969 with the objective of delivering degree courses in Bachelor of Fisheries Science. UAS is an active member of the AIU and is also one of the UGC recognized institutes.

Other Info:
Recently the University has introduced the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University with headquarters at Bidar, and is offering the Veterinary science, Dairy science and Fishery science degree programs.
