School of Film & Mass Communication (SFMC) aims at providing the best opportunities to student and prepare them to meet the emerging global challenges in the year to come. SFMC also impart technical education to the future aspirants and aims at creating a work force of professional with analytic skills. SFMC is a School par excellence equipped with latest laboratories excellent infrastructure and qualified, experienced and committed team of faculty members. Teachers provide firm and supportive learning environment. Radio is not simply a tool for entertainment, but is also a great tool for employment.

The SFMC as a part of its social commitment and responsibility towards the community within which it is situated; running a Community Radio Station (CRS), addressing itself to the residents of Allahabad. This FM Radio broadcasts educational, enrichment and a wide range of rich sociocultural programmes. The students, under the supervision of faculty members produce the radio programmes. FM Radio is a space that provides an excellent learning experience to our students. SFMC’s Radio Station is a good source of hands-on experience for students of mass communication.

For those students who come and join here find the programme with opportunities which are provided for all round personality development by participating in co-curriculum and extra curriculum activities. This course will lead to excellent employment prospects. SFMC has been attached to several satellite channels. It produces films and videos for these channels.

Frequent visits are made by guest/visitors who enlighten our students with their lectures. Students learn a lot from these lectures There is an opportunity to learn some thing new from different perspective. It is a complete professional course where students have got more placement opportunities.

Facilities

The faculty offers excellent laboratory facilities for the students. Labs are equipped with the latest equipments e.g. High Definition (DV) Camcorders, DSR PD 170 Camera, DSR 390 P Camera, Audio Mixer, Video Mixer. Students have easy access to available equipments in the labs. SFMC Shooting Floor gives opportunity to students for proper practice. In studio, students use lights like Multi-20, Solar & Baby and CS, Reflectors etc. for shooting.
Video Editing Lab is equipped with latest versions of Final Cut Pro (FCP), Editing Suit, Adobe Premier, Avid and other related software. Recording Studio is equipped with Audio Mixture, Audio Editing Suit. Students develop their expertise, ability and professionalism.
Faculty is running own Community Radio Station (CRS) Radio Adan (90.4 MHz) addressing itself to the residents of Allahabad. Here students get the privilege of hands on experience of Audio Dubbing, Editing and Programme Production for Radio.
