University of Technology Sydney, founded in 1988, is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia as part of the Australian Technology Network of universities. Around 32,500 students study in the university, consisting of over 21,000 undergraduate students and 10,900 postgraduate students.
Academic Program
University of Technology Sydney houses ten faculties.
- Faculty of Arts and Social, which covers the areas of study: Info & Knowledge Management, Journalism, Media Arts & Production, Public Communication, Social Inquiry, and Writing and Cultural Studies.
- Faculty of Business, which comprises of six schools: Graduate School of Business, Accounting, Finance and Economics, Leisure, Sport and Tourism, Management, and Marketing. The faculty is the biggest in the university and one of the largest business schools in the country.
- Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, which comprises three schools: Design, Architecture, and Built Environment. For the year 2010, there are two new degrees offered: Master of Advanced Architecture and Bachelor of Design in Photography and Situated Media.
- Faculty of Engineering, which covers the areas of study such as General Engineering,
Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies Engineering (with specializations in Software, Computer Systems and Telecommunications), Innovation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechanical & Mechatronic. - Faculty of Information Technology, which covers the areas of study such as Information Technology, Science in Internetworking, Interactive Multimedia, Computing Sciences, etc.
- Faculty of International Studies, which offers courses in fields such as Global Studies, Arts in International Business, and International Studies. There are programs for bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees, graduate diploma degrees, bachelor degrees, combined degrees, and research degrees.
- Faculty of Law, which covers the areas of study such as Health Law and Policy, International Law, Law and Regulation, Family Law and Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Commercial Law, and Intellectual Property. The faculty comprises programs for undergraduates, graduates, research degrees, professional development, combined degrees, and practical legal training.Â
- Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health, which offers courses in fields such as Nursery, Midwifery, Perioperative, Anesthetics and Recovery Room, Critical Care, Children, Clinical Teaching, Neonatal, Child and Family Health, Acute Care, Mental Health, Philosophy, and Nursing Management. There are programs for bachelor degrees, master degrees, graduate diplomas, graduate certificates, research degrees, combined degree, and short courses. The combined degree program is available for Bachelor of Nursing Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.
- Faculty of Science, which offers five departments: Chemistry and Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Medical and Molecular Biosciences, and Physics and Advanced Materials.

Faculty of Education, which covers the areas of study such as Adult Education, Primary Education, Organizational Learning, etc. Besides postgraduate and undergraduate programs, there is option for research degrees.
